Cookie Dough Dip

Healthy Snacks No Comments by girlintheyellowcab

If you love cookie dough (who doesn’t?) you are sure to love this recipe. The Grammy’s are on Sunday and this is a perfect appetizer for hosting or just vegging out. I served mine with apples, but graham crackers would be delish as well. Even though the apple is just about the only ‘heatlhy’ ingredient to this recipe, it sure does beat eating batter with raw eggs (a favorite of mine as a kid). Next time I make this, I’m going to spread the dip as frosting to a pan of chocolate brownies. Imagine the goodness!

A Little Flavor

When my boyfriend and I went to the Pfister Day Spa, we had more choices on the kind of water we preferred than one could imagine. Tap, bottled, water with lemon, water with cucumber-you name it. Last weekend when I was at home craving a little refresher after a workout, it hit me. I can make my own flavored water (Aha!). It’s my current obsession.

Spice it Up

On my quest to find healthy, satisfying snacks I went back to the basics-Triscuits. I normally love to eat the wheat cracker plain, but things are just more fun when they’re spiced up. Esepcially when it comes to food.  All you need is a triscuit + your favorite cheese (I used Colby) + cherry tomato + salsa. My mom makes the best homemade salsa, so I couldn’t go wrong. When all is said and done you have the perfect mini snack for yourself, or one that is perfect for entertaining. May I add it requires no cooking, baking, or following of ingredients. I’m in!

Sincerely,

Heatlhy Snack

I don’t know if it’s the new year or the new book I’m reading, but I have become extremely focused on putting healthier, more natural foods into my body. Learning about over-processed foods and how they negatively affect my hormones and homeostasis really opened my eyes. I used to crave fast food often and now find that I crave a salad or protein. Granted, I still have cheat days where a Culver’s Sourdough Melt is a must-but I try my hardest to keep on track. When looking for a healthy snack, I find delicious and easy ways to satisfy my hunger. Greek yogurt + strawberries = yumm. I found the idea here. (Not sure how the yogurt is frozen to perfection, but mine did the trick)
